new york
i always just knew i’d hate new york city. knew. but then i visited a few dear friends living in brooklyn and realized that i, in fact, love it. i traveled to brooklyn four times last year, six weeks in total. the trick might be to never actually live there.

in any case, i’m going back tonight.
and i’m excited.

new posts will still be coming, but they’ll be entirely visual until i return and can share some goods.

my final admission in this post is that part of what i love about new york is chess. i love chess. i’m not amazing at it, but i can play, and i have a competitive nature when it comes to strategy-based activities. so when i was able to play chess in a manhattan park with my friend beaux, i was happy & grateful, as we’d played against each other often as roommates. chesstastic. photos from that day:

for reference, it was a draw. out of MERCY on my part.
