Torey Bonar.

I’m most drawn to Bonar’s female figure piece because it, like many of my favorites, speaks in feminist parody. Sort of playing on, but also critiquing, the sexual fetishization of the female body. Legs white & spread. Beautifully bound spines instead of lips. I love anything that re-represents that warm center through books (knowledge?). Doubly impressed by her willingness to let the work remain open to interpretation. Minneapolis should look forward to more from this lovely lady.
